Vacation Is Over.

As you may well know the girls in purple in silver are over in London.  You can keep up with their adventures on their travel blog.  After 5 days, their fun on the banks of the Thames must end and carnage on the track begins.  Our girls will battle London Brawling at 3pm Central.  Watch their bout against the London Rollergirls on the internets.

Join us Sunday, Feb 28th for Hustler Nation's first pre-party at Bagpipes starting at 5:30.  Come grab some pub food and drink with fellow fans of the purple and silver.  We'll talk some smack about opposing teams, hypothesize about scores, and maybe even concoct some mischief. 

Remember to wear purple!!!

PS. Bagpipes is located right around the corner from Playland, in the shopping center on the 183 feeder just to the east of McCann Dr.  The have cheap drinks, good drinking grub, and clean bathrooms.

Time to get serious

Derby Fans, the 2010 TXRG season is less than two weeks away!  If you want a little reminder of what fantastic derby action looks like, check out the Governor's Cup this weekend at the Millennium Youth Center in East Austin.

But enough with all appetizer stuff, we're talking about the REAL DEAL TXRG flat-track season.  This could be a championship year for our Hustlers, but they are going to need our help to be at the top of their game.  We all know a certain team in black & pink has won the battle of the stands for the last couple of years. Well, that ends this year with the arrival of the Hustler Nation!  So here are a few simple ways you can help the purple & silver start off this season with a bang:

1. Wear purple.  'Nuff said.
2. Join us for a pre-bout party at Bagpipes Feb 28th starting at 5:30.  They have drink specials and good pub grub.  The best thing is that they are right around the corner from Playland.
3. Follow this blog to get the latest scoop on supporter events & hi-jinks.  It is easy, click on the "Follow" button on the lower left-hand side of the blog.
4. Get your tickets in advance (SmackPacks are the best).  You don't want to wait in that LONG line.
5. See #1.
6. Sit with the Hustler Nation.... power in numbers!

2010 Season Preview

Believe it or not the 2010 season is finally upon us!  With all the retirements, intra-league transfers, and new talent this year I think this is going to be the closest season in recent history.  Without a question, our Hustlers did great this off-season.  The Hustlers picked up one of the biggest intra-league transfer shocks- perennial Texie Belle Star.  Belle is a perfect fit to the overall Hustler culture and is a true triple threat.  Her addition will not only solidify the #1 defense in the league but also add a bruising jammer to keep opposing teams off balance.

In addition to that pick up, the return of veteran Pussy Velour and 2 promising rookies backed up with a strong returning class (including a fit Babe Ruthless who has fully recovered from her broken back).   Cheap Trixie, coming off a strong National tournament, unfortunately suffered a broken leg in January and is expected to be back by June.

All in all, this team looks like it could be a serious contender for the championship this year!  I just purchased my SmackPack... have you?
